Welcome to TiledPlanet.com (“Tiled Planet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our website, platform, and related services (collectively, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not access or use the Services.

1. Overview

Tiled Planet provides a platform that allows users to create, share, and play Choose Your Own Adventure–style interactive stories and games (“User Content”). We support creativity and freedom of expression, provided users act lawfully and respectfully.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction) to use Tiled Planet. By using the Services, you represent and warrant that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate and complete.

3. User Accounts

To access certain features, you may be required to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to promptly notify us of any unauthorized use or suspected security breach.

4. User Content and License

You retain ownership of all content you create or upload to Tiled Planet. By submitting or posting User Content, you grant Tiled Planet a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable license to host, store, display, reproduce, distribute, and otherwise use your content as necessary to operate and promote the Services. You represent and warrant that: You own or have sufficient rights to post your content; and Your content and its use through the Services do not violate any law or infringe any third-party rights.

5. Prohibited Content and Conduct

Tiled Planet supports free expression, but certain content and conduct are strictly prohibited. You agree not to upload, post, or otherwise make available any content that:

Contains pornographic, sexually explicit, or X-rated material;
Promotes or depicts illegal activity or violates any applicable law;
Includes harassment, hate speech, or targeted attacks against individuals or groups;
Infringes any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual-property right; or
Contains malicious code, spam, or deceptive or fraudulent information.
We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to remove or restrict access to any content that violates these Terms or applicable law. However, we generally do not remove content solely because it may be offensive or controversial. If a story offends you, you are encouraged not to play it.

6. Community Standards

All users are expected to treat others respectfully. When commenting on or reviewing another user’s work: Offer constructive feedback rather than personal attacks; Do not troll, spam, or harass; and Keep discussions relevant and civil. Tiled Planet may moderate discussions and remove comments that violate these standards.

7. Content Moderation

We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to monitor, review, or remove User Content that violates these Terms or applicable law. We may suspend or terminate accounts for repeated or egregious violations.

8. Intellectual Property

Except for User Content, all materials on the Services—including software, design, text, graphics, trademarks, and logos—are the property of Tiled Planet or its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any portion of the Services without our prior written consent.

9. Payments and Refunds

Payments. Certain features of the Services, including subscriptions, digital goods, or virtual credits, may require payment. By making a purchase, you agree to pay all applicable fees and authorize Tiled Planet (and its payment processors) to charge your selected payment method.

Non-Refundable Transactions. All payments for electronic goods—including, without limitation, subscription fees, digital items, and virtual credits—are non-refundable once processed. However, refunds may be considered on a case-by-case basis if a written refund request is submitted to Tiled Planet within 30 days of the original transaction date. Tiled Planet will review the request and, in its sole discretion, determine whether a refund will be granted. Decisions regarding refunds are final.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, with or without notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that may harm Tiled Planet, other users, or the integrity of the platform. You may terminate your account at any time. Upon termination, all rights granted under these Terms will immediately cease, except for those that by their nature should survive (including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification).

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Services are provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. Tiled Planet makes no representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, regarding the Services or any content, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tiled Planet and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Services. Our aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount you paid (if any) to Tiled Planet during the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tiled Planet and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from or related to: Your use of the Services; Your User Content; or Your violation of these Terms or applicable law.

14. Modifications to the Terms

Tiled Planet reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. Revised Terms will be posted on the website with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Services after such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Virginia, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.
